Airsoft is a 1:1 scaled replica firearm made of either metal
or plastic. It usually fires 6mm pellets weighing 110-600 milligrams.
They are known as bbs, short for ball bearing or big ball. The
sport of airsoft began in Japan during mid 1970s when real guns
were prohibited by Japanese law. It then spread to China, Philippines,
South Korea and later the United States of America. Today it
has become a thriving hobby and the enthusiasts can check out

TYPES OF GUNS |

Spring Guns Spring Guns: Spring guns must be cocked each time. It does not require any batteries or gas. These models are usually the most durable and best entry level guns. |

Automatic Electric Guns (AEG): Battery powered motor, gear box, and circuit board which controls the the air piston assembly and mech box. These are the most expensive and most powerful airsoft rifles. |

Gas Guns  Require the use of some kind of gas propellant (Click Here for Gas Refill Canister). The gas is stored in the gas chamber, usually in the magazine or clip. |

"Non-blowback" Gas Guns  A non-blowback (NBB), the gas only serves as pushing the bb forward. Also, the slide is in the fixed position. |

Non-blowbacks are more efficient than blowbacks because they require less gas to push the bbs.
